Fix for "divide by zero" Error

prefs.dat File Contents & Format

In some instances, you may get a "divide by zero" error upon running the pH utility. If this occurs, edit prefs.dat with any text editor (like NOTEPAD) and set the 12th line to something other than zero (which it should be right now if the program is crashing). Save the file and restart BreWater 3.0. It should work now.

Here is the format of the prefs.dat file:

Epsom salt grams per teaspoon
Baking soda grams per teaspoon
Chalk grams per teaspoon
Canning Salt grams per teaspoon
CaCl2 grams per teaspoon
Gypsum grams per teaspoon
Grams or Teaspoons (0 = tsp, -1 = grams)
dilution (amount of ion-free water, in chosen units)
Gallons or Litres (0 = litres, -1 = gallons)
Number of Gallons or Liters treated
Color or Monochrome (0 = monochrome, -1 = color)
Display pH? (0 = no, -1 = yes)
Acid Strength (MUST BE GREATER THAN ZERO!! Try 10.000)
Acid Units (% = percent, N = normal, M = molar)
Acid Type (hydr = hydrochloric, lact = lactic, phos = phosphoric)
