Bankrupt? Is it possible that the UTU is Bankrupt? Both financially and morally? Financially speaking, the only money in UTU is in Trust Funds. The Amount of the Trust Funds (monies the International allegedly can't touch because it is for JBF participants, State Legislative Directors, and General Committees of Adjustment exceeds the total assets! We have negative cash flow and still owe the JBF 5.5 Million? UTU continues to spend more each month than they take in. So where is the money coming from? The trust funds! Does not make much difference that DOL said it was improper to use the JBF, we just use the SLD's and GC's money now! Morally bankrupt? I'd say they have to be to continue to splurge with the Credit card, pay themselves per diem even though the meals and rooms (usually suites) are paid for already, and continue with the Special Reps in decadent fashion! As soon as I can get my hands on a copy of a recent GS&T Monthly report, I will tell you how much we are in the hole! Actually, I would have to say the Department of Labor Decision on the JBF Fund is meaningless to these boys. These hogs haven't even thought about backing away from the trough! Anybody got a recent copy of the Monthly GS&T they can scan and attach in a file (just need the page with all the totals of funds)! Oh, by the way, where exactly was the STRIKE that we paid out over 3 million in benefits? |
