Intimidation

Personally, I can't think of a word in the English language that evokes
more emotion in me than this word, "intimidation". It is defined in
Black's Law Dictionary, fifth edition, as: "Unlawful coercion; extortion; duress,
putting in fear. To take, or attempt to take, "by intimidation" means willfully
to take, or attempt to take, by putting in fear of bodily harm. Such fear must arise from
the willful conduct of the accused, rather than from some mere temperamental timidity of
the victim; however, the fear of the victim need not be so great as to result in terror,
panic, or hysteria."
I received this on 6/02/99 from frank@Southwind.net
, a long time friend and senior member of my GCA Committee:
"Lanny,
I have more time than I need....Probably need to retire and get out of
this mess, but that will be in 11 years if God is willing.
I don't think you went to the LA Region, so let me clue you
in.. You will be ask to wear a Charlie Little pin, if you don't they will bug
you to death. ( I thought that regionals were not political), therefore I will not
wear Little man's button. . . ."
Since June 2, I have had the misfortune to talk with a member who was
"pinned" at the LA meeting; his description of what happened is more closely
associated with the above definition of "intimidation"!
Hey, Sacrosanct Charlie, is that what you're "Special
Representatives" and body guards do - hang around the registration desk to make sure
everyone is in tune with your song, to the point of physical threat? My observation, keep
it up, your song is the swan song! However, as you can tell from my photo in the preview
of the St. Louis Edition entitled "you deserve a vote that counts", I am wearing
what "appears" to be a Charlie Little Pin ("appears" in tribute to the
question by Rambo Edmonds on page 117 of the summary bench trial transcript to wit: (By
Mr. Edmond) Did you see Mr. Smoot distributing what "appeared" to be Exhibit 8,
the executive session transcript, to individuals at that regional meeting in Atlanta? A.
(Mr. Earley) Yes, I did."), but upon close examination, that "little pin"
has a dark red line through it to indicate "I want more than
"little"!" or in the alternative "No Mo Little"! I will have my
"dark red" nail polish with me in St. Louis for anybody who wants to
"appear" to be "unpinned"! Will you send your "thugs" to
"intimidate me"? I told you I didn't like intimidation; go ahead, punk,
"make my day"!
The preceeding message has been brought to you by the "Eastwood
Foundation" where our motto is "We never met a Clint we didn't like, except Mr.
Miller!" Ha Ha, just kidding Clint, it just "appears" I am picking on you!
Were "u" intimidated at a region meeting; send "us"
an email to leruck@elp.rr.com and let us know,
perhaps we can stop this type of unnessary actions in the future. Remember, the
"Special Reps" are just in it for the money, give them a big hug and tell them
"u" understand!
