Convention Time?

President Dubroski!  Delegate Ruck, Division #1571, I rise on a matter of Personal Privilege with a request for information:  Were the BLE Officers, GC's, and State Directors vested in the UTU Pension Fund in accordance with Point 28?   If so, how much money did it cost the membership to vest them and which union, if any, paid the money?

President Dubroski:  Delegate Ruck, you are out of order!

R:  I appeal the decision I am out of order to the Body (whereupon 95% of the Delegates support me and also demand an answer).

D:  Lacking sufficient votes to overturn the chair, we will continue with the order of business!

Delegation goes wild and begins yelling for a roll call vote! Dubroski turns off all the mikes and continues with the order of business!

Suddenly I am awoken from this nightmare by the wet tongue of Whiskers, my faithful cat.  It was all a dream - I wasn't in Miami at another Convention and I wasn't in that "other" Union, I was still in the UTU - the most powerful operating transportation union in America!  "The ONE" that brought about the "POO"; the "ONE" famous for Democracy and Free Speech; the "ONE" that will prosecute and persecute any member who has the audacity to bring discredit upon the Union!  And IF you don't believe it, John Black will "kick your ass"!

"I love my job"!   August 14, 2001 - CEO - El Paso Express.

BLE Brothers, help me out here?  The latest BLE Constitution I have is 1996 and having carefully read (a)(3) Recall, I am unable to find the "Subcommittee" of the Executive Council that gives it blessing (whether the charges [petitions] are valid) to the petitions for recall? In fact, it doesn't even say that the 25% of local divisions has to represent 50% of the membership.  Seems very simply, you get the required petitions and the President or GS&T (if President is the charged party) sends out the ballot?  I love it! And the operative word to send it out is "mandatory" - Oh God . . . , that sounds soooooo gooooood!

Ah .  . . , I guess the new improved Constitution needed a little "buffer" in there ("So Mr. Corleone had a lot of buffers"?  "The Godfather" ) since 25% of the membership and/or locals/divisions probably don't know what they are doing anyway without "Executive" Input!  So did they change that provision?  Seems to me they didn't because I don't remember any subcommittee of BLE Officers determining if the petitions were "Valid" on Monin?  Inquiring Minds Want to Know?

I have to know because based upon the powers this new Constitution is giving the International that they never had before (or had and it was taken back in Conventions of the BLE and UTU), I'd say my activities with the El Paso Express will qualify me for expulsion within one month of January 1, 2002 when the "POWER OF ONE" exerts itself!  Everyone hang in there and have a nice day.

UTU-BLE Brothers and Sisters - It is not to late to get your very own "El Paso Express" Shirt.   Imagine the smile on your face when International Officers refuse to answer valid questions and rule you "Out of Order"!*
