Greetings and Welcome to

Ricks Beer Page

Hello and welcome to El Paso Ricks Beer Page and I am your host Rick Chavez.  When I first started my web page, there were a lot of goals that I wanted to accomplish when I started this project.  One of the most important items that I promised to myself, was to stay on top of my web page and make sure that all my writings were going to be fresh and I was going to consistently change all writings on a regular basis.

This was very important to me because I did not want my web site to become stale.  I want my potential readers to click on to my site and see new articles or stories every time they came back to my web site.  I then realized that this might be a little impractical.  It was at this time that I agreed to myself that I would change all articles and information every month or so.  I believed that if you leave anything longer than a month or two, readers would lose interest in my site and I would risk losing a potential visitor.

I am sad to say that I already failed on my promise to keep my articles crisp and refreshing.  I know I do not have to apologize for this subject, but to the readers who I possibly have lost due to the longevity of the present stories on my site.  I apologize for this lack of concentration.

I unfortunately have been preoccupied with events that have happened recently in my life.  On November 17, 2006 my Dad, Rafael J. Chavez passed away.  With the passing of my Dad, I was so busy taking care of things for the funeral that I did not have time for anything else.  I never realized on how much work there is when you have someone close to you pass away. Until recently, I never really had the time to show the emotions I was feeling inside.  To place this whole episode in perspective, I did not have the energy or the love for beer collecting including the up-keep of my web site since my Dads passing.

However, it is now the beginning of June and it is now time to move on with my life.  It was Dan Scoglietti (a good friend that lost his Dad just prior to my Dads passing) that told me that no matter how much you prepare for this event.  You will never be totally prepared.

I will always miss my Dad and he will always be a part of me. However, it is time for me to get refocused on my responsibilities and move on with my life.  I again, want to apologize to the readers of my web page who I might have possibly lost because I did not keep the promise I mentioned when I first started my web page.

I believe that I must make that promise again, and GOD willing never have to break my word. It is here that to my readers, I promise to always have fresh articles or stories at least every 2 to 3 months and this is so my web site will always be fresh and eliminate the chances of losing any potential readers due to old material.

Thank You Very Much for visiting my Web Page and I hope you can enjoy to the fullest what I am trying to accomplish with this project that my God Son Mike Meza and myself have created.

Until next time,
Take Care and God Bless
